Igor Butman is a tenor saxophonist, big band leader, composer and an art-director of the annual international festival "The Triumph of Jazz" and the permanent director of the famous Moscow «Le Club" jazz club. He is one of the leading jazz musicians in Russia. Played a lead saxophone in the orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem. He studied school at Berkeley in Boston, participated in the Lionel Hampton Orchestra European tour. Since 1992 he has been the main person in the cultural exchange between America and Russia. Igor Butman Big Band is one of the best jazz orchestras in Russia, consisting of dozen prominent jazz musicians and most famous Russian big band abroad. 11 years ago, saxophonist Igor Butman and arranger Vitaly Dolgov created the legendary Igor Butman Big Band, which has since been actively touring in Russia, Europe and the USA. Big-band repeatedly played at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the legendary jazz club Birdland and other equally prestigious venues around the world. Created in March 1999, the staff for seven years, almost every Monday in Moscow played "Le Club" and toured together with their leader, quickly gained weight and credibility of the country's best jazz band orchestra in which every musician is strong and original lead singer.
