_marientalEric Marienthal is one of the most famous contemporary saxophonists. His style of play with an ideal system, powerful sound, smooth tone of the entire range of saxophones, the shrill top and long expressive glissando. He became famous during his work with Chick Corea in the Elektric Band (1987 - 1995). Recently, this team has been recreated, and the spring of 2003, Mariental plays again with Chick Corea. In the past two years, Eric also serves as a member of Rippingtons, as well as the most famous representatives of contemporary jazz such as Jeff Lorber, Russ Ferrante, Lee Ritenour, Russ Freeman and others. Eric Marienthal was born in Sacramento, California, and grew up in Los Angeles. A graduate of Berklee College of Music. In 1986, Marienthal played at a Los Angeles club with keyboardist John Nouvelle, where he noticed Chick Corea, who was then collected his famous group Elektric Band.Chick has invited Eric to take part in the album Light Years, and was soon invited to become a member of the ensemble Elektric Band, which included John Patitucci then (bass), Frank Gambale (guitar) and Dave Vekl (drums).
With deep expertise with Chick Corea Marienthal began working on the label GRP, where his solo albums came out: Voices of the Heart (1988), Round Trip (1989), Crossroads (1990), Oasis (1991), One Touch (1993), Street Dance(1994) and Collection (1997). On the other studios were recorded discs Easy Street (PolyGram / Verve / ieMusic, 1997), Walk Tall (PolyGram / ieMusic, 1998), Turn Up The Heat (Peak Records, 2001) and September 23, 2003 released the album Sweet Talk (Peak Records).
